Computer-Based Ergonomics Awareness Training

We can help create a customized, computer-based training (CBT) course for your employees and/or supervisors and managers. This Industrial or Office Ergonomics Awareness Training is to provide a basic understanding of ergonomics, MSDs, the client’s ergonomics process and the employee’s role for successful process implementation. These classes can be broken into customized modules and integrated into your company’s CBT system.

In the Ergonomics Awareness for Employees training, participants will be able to:

  • Describe elements of the client’s ergonomics process and how individual employees can support it.
  • Define ergonomics and why it is important.
  • Define MSDs.
  • List MSD symptoms, and explain the importance of early reporting.
  • Explain the appropriate steps for reporting WMSD symptoms.
  • Identify ergonomic risk factors that contribute to WMSDs.
  • Explain the importance of working in neutral postures and how it impacts risk.
  • Describe simple approaches to improve ergonomics in the industrial or office environments.
  • Demonstrate proper lifting techniques and body mechanics.

In the Ergonomics Awareness for Supervisors and Managers training, participants will be able to:

  • Explain management’s role of supplying appropriate ergonomic resources
  • Define ergonomics and why it is important.
  • Define MSDs, list MSD symptoms, and explain the importance of early reporting.
  • Explain the appropriate steps for reporting WMSD symptoms.
  • Identify risk factors that contribute to WMSDs.
  • Explain the importance of working in neutral postures and how it affects fatigue.
  • Describe the types of medical intervention appropriate for WMSD treatment and management’s role in medical management of injured employees
  • Describe simple approaches to improve ergonomics in the industrial or office environments.
  • Describe the appropriate use of engineering controls and administrative controls

These classes can be customized to a length that makes sense for your employees and your company’s ergonomics program.
