Master Ergonomist Gary Downey to present two sessions at the Oklahoma Safety & Health Conference

Gary Downey will be presenting a pre-conference workshop on Wednesday, August 11, 2021 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM. The workshop, “How Much is Too Much? An Intro to Two Standard Ergonomic Tools”, will introduce attendees to the NIOSH Lifting Equation and the Liberty Mutual Manual Material Lifting Guidelines, two gold-standard ergonomic analysis tools.

Gary will also be presenting the topic “The Ergonomics of Working from Home” on August 12, 2021 from 10:45 AM to 11:45 AM. In the wake of COVID-19, many employees are now working from home. Not everyone has a designated home office space, so most are making due with less than ideal “temporary” home office workstations. This session will review the basic neutral postures desired when working from an office setting, the risk factors to look for to avoid common causes of discomfort and provide some low cost, quick fixes to improving the home office.
