Director of Ergonomic Services Jeff Hoyle will be a co-presenter at ProMat 2019

Director of Ergonomic Services Jeff Hoyle, MS, CPR will be a co-presenter with Robert Doucette, Jr., Applications Engineer at BOSTGONtec at this year’s ProMat 2019 Conference in Chicago, IL. They will be presenting the topic, Workstations: Basic Steps That Can Improve Productivity and Reduce Operator Injuries on Monday, April 8, 2019 from 12:00-12:45 PM.

In this session they will demonstrate how a proper, ergonomically-designed workstation can improve productivity up to 25 percent and reduce repetitive motion workplace injuries. Automation has been the driver to improve productivity for decades but the manual tasks left for humans are often repetitive and time consuming. Work-related Musculoskeletal Disorders (WMSDs) are injuries associated with soft tissues such as muscles, tendons, ligaments, joints and the nervous system caused by repetitive motions. Nationally WMSDs account for 34 percent of all lost workday injuries/illnesses costing companies over $20 billion annually. The area where an associate performs these recurring tasks is often an afterthought in the material handling process. Investing a little time to plan a work area can yield significant savings.
